Need a bad credit mortgage for 1st time buyer

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone has been accepted recently on an adverse mortgage deal?
We want to buy our first home (which we currently rent). We have 15% deposit but a mortgage broker told me over the phone that we dont stand a chance of getting a mortgage. Not ready to give up the battle as its my dream to own a home so looking for some advice please.
Can anyone recommend an adverse credit mortgage that would consider us on a 15% deposit?
