When you say you have told thm you don't owe the debt you are chasing - was this in writing or by phone?
If you have sent several letters to dispute the debt/send proof that its not owed etc, you could just certainly go for B.
Option C might be to send the letter that revokes their right (man or woman) to visit your property - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=23635529&postcount=59A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I told them in writing via Email. I have given them no proof but I have told them that if they contact that client they will get the proof. How hard can that be? I did it and I'm just a guy. They have fancy-!!! letters after their name and are professional people. Thank you , I will do that re the electronic letter!0

I am also having trouble with Fairfax. I owed some money following a self assessment so I arranged a payment plan. 4 months later Fairfax pipe up that I owe them money on behalf of so & so etc etc - I'd already paid it off! another 5 months later and they are STILL harrassing me by phone and letter saying I owe the same amount.
I too have told them several times, they say 'the client hasnt informed us, we'll put it on hold until we contact them' and then they carry on harrassing me anyway. The info they've got is more than 9 months out of date and there is no WAY they have contacted 'their client'. They are also very rude!
I have just constructed a complaint letter using some tips from this post so thanks everyone! Hopefully I will never have to deal with them again... hoping for too much?!
If they do contact me by phone again I will insist I can only speak to them in writing.0 -
