i am now officially on a term time contract, i rang tax credits and they confirmed in the school holidays they still class me as working.
but on a tax credit web page it says a term time worker can claim jsa in the holidays when not working and not getting paid...
so if i make a claim where would i stand with my tax credits...??
i would only be claiming for the 6 week holiday ?
any help much appreciated

Do you get paid in the holidays for your job ? If you do then they average the hours out over the year. If not then you claim jsa in the holidays.0

no i dont get paid in the holidays...
but tax credits still class me as working and so i keep my working tax and childcare help (as still pay costs in holidays)
so would these stop if i claim jsa....even though im classed as working0 -
yes if you claimed jsa your working tax credits will stop along with the childcare0

just found this and it says i might still get my wtc... so confused now
The general rule is that hours are calculated for WTC purposes by looking at the hours you normally do each week. However, if you are a term-time worker, special rules apply. There are also rules covering a variety of other situations when your working patterns vary and you may still be able to qualify for WTC.0
