    I found this -

    Duration of copyright
    The 1988 Copyright, Designs and Patents Act states the duration as;

    Broadcasts and cable programmes
    50 years from the end of the calendar year in which the broadcast was made.

    "collection supplied in sleeves and no artwork "

    "THIS BILKO COLLECTION IS SUPPLIED IN PROTECTIVE WALLETS WITH ALL ARTWORK AS SHOWN, IE; THE COVERS TO FIT INTO YOUR OWN DVD CASES AND IS THE SAME QUALITY AS MY OTHER BILKO SETS THAT ARE SUPPLIED WITH CASES..."

    "Mostly recorded from US TV programme comedy central. Picture quality reflects the archive nature of the recordings. These are the same recordings as other sellers are offering so don't expect cinema quality. "

    Ahoy Jim Lad.....

    It is illegal to buy pirate copies in the UK and buyers, as well as sellers can be prosecuted.

    The seller definitely says they are recorded from the TV and the quality reflects the archiving eg. they are a bit pixelated due to being compressed.
    They might not be copies of retail dvd's but it used to be illegal to sell stuff you recorded onto video from your TV so I think it is still illegal if it is recorded onto DVD's.

    Bascially region 0 is copied / pirated because you can't buy region 0 dvds in store.

    I've got over 100 that are printed on the box as Region 0 and over 330 that are marked as Any Region, all have been bought from reputable sellers around the world.

    All Anchor Bay releases are Region 0, regardless of what it says on the box.

    If it's a new release (following a recent cinema outing) then it will probably be region coded.

    I'm not an expert on copyright but I was told the tale that if copyright is not renewed in the US after xx years then it becomes public domain and anyone can release it.

    A good film to demonstrate this is Night of the Living Dead (1968). Just try and find the number of releases on this and the price of them.
