:j Through links on MSE I found this site today, which has helped me with a $100 rebate on my energy accounts and a 20% discount for 2 years. Many people on State benefits will be eligible for this type of help.
Go to Home Heat Helpline, it's a .org.uk (Can't post link as new user, sorry)
They will talk to your energy supplier for you, getting hold of the right department (half the battle!!) and start the ball rolling. You'll need to provide details of your income. Well worth a visit. :T
