Hi, I would really appreciate some help, I am looking for a washing machine. I want good value for money, large load and something that will last.
Has anybody got any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Depends how much you want to spend. On the Co-op websites prices vary from £174 to £1500.

Hi
I have a hotpoint Ultima 6kg and I love it! Have had it for 7/8 yrs, use at least once a day and have never had a problem yet.
Has all the usual functions like mini load, quick wash but I like that you choose the temp in 5 degree incriments, adjust the spin between 500 and 1600 and have 3 levels of 'how dirty'. Fab at football/rugby kit!!
Good luck whatever you choose, hth0 -
I have a Bosch, nice and quiet- my mum used to have a Bosch, it broke down after about 11 or 12 years and she got a Hotpoint. Its so loud that the max volume on the TV does not compete! Madness! Suppose it depends what your requirements are.
OP, can you get to your local library? they will likely have a backstock of the Which magazine and you should be able to find a good inpartial review of washing machines and brands of which may help- its how I made my decision 7 years ago.0 -
I second the Bosch recommendation. Very reliable.

Bosch or Siemens for reliable washing.
They cost a little more but should last twice as long.
Do a price comparison to pick up teh cheaper ones.
I recently got an end-of-line 8Kg Siemens for £380 fitted (and teh old one taken away)

Which says Miele first, AEG second.
I got the AEG0 -
I have to agree with Bosch which all our white goods are and we've never had any major problems with any of them.0

This Miele W5740 Washing Machine is probably the best on the market right now - but don't take my word for it, just read up about it online and you'll see. It costs a fair bit at £895 but it has a well sized 7kg load, performs very well and Miele products like this are built to last 20 years (so you will have spare parts available til that time). It comes with a number of useful wash programs and also features an 'automatic plus' program that will automatically adjust the water, spin speed and wash cycle to provide the best care for your garments while being efficient and saving you energy/money. It has more bells and whistles that I can talk about here, so I would recommend doing some research on this model and reading up on it to help you make your decision.Shin: a device for finding furniture in the dark.0

Hummm so a toss up between a Hotpoint, Bosch, Siemens, Miele or an AEG... between £174 to £1500. Super! :rotfl:SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. Said Simple Simon to the pie man, "What have you got there?" Said the pie man unto Simon, "Pies, you simpleton!"0
