Has anyone travelled to Moscow by train?

Hi. We fancy travelling to Moscow by train next year. Just wondered if anyone had done this? Any advice or experiences would be gratefully received. Also been looking at accommodation in Moscow. it seems very expensive. Are there any cheaper options?
