Cordless phones

Is it ok to leave a cordless phone on the charging base for two weeks while I am on holiday. It does get very warm but I believe that there is also an argument for discharging the batteries occasionally.

I know it is a miniscule amount of electricity - but why waste it ?

I don't think there's a problem leaving the phone on charge. I suppose it depends on the brand, but I know some Panasonic ones will stop charging when full, when in their cradle.
The other option is risk coming back to a flat phone on your return from holiday.
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

It's what I do without any noticable ill effects but I'm not an expert. Coincidentally there is a related discussion going on at

It wasn't so much the electricity consumption I was worried about, more the safety angle.

I left mine on for years now when I go away. There is a small risk I suppose like anything though
