Do I have any hope?

I bought an item from b&q recently, using gift vouchers. I tried to use it this weekend and discovered that it is faulty (it's an electrical item). Now I can't find the bloody receipt and since I bought it with vouchers I have no other proof of purchase. Do I have any chance of getting it exchanged?

This will probably depend on the store, and whether or not the manager will help.
From other threads on here, some are very helpful while others are the proverbial chocolate fireguards.0 -
Or...
Go buy another one with cash. Later in day take original one back with new receipt. Tell them you want a refund. Problem sorted
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
