Line rental is initially usually a 12 month contract. Apart from that, only those agreeing to take the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Calls Plan @ no charge (i.e. with the usual £2.99/month fee waived) are on renewable contracts. Is that you?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

thanks heinze,
i have the unlimited anytime plan for £4.95 per month, plus plus line rental at £11.25 per month, with a 12 month renewable contract.
this plan gives me a £1 discount a month,normal price £5.95 per month, plus line rental.0 -
I wouldnt wait for BT to write to you...in fact it may already have been auto renewed (if it is an auto renewing contract)..you should call them and ask if you are in contract or not, if not then the usual notice period should be all thats reqd...having said that the BT Anytime plan is quite good value0

after my posting on mse yesterday, i have today spoken to bt, concerning my contract. i asked them why i had not received my reminder letter to inform me my contract was due for renewall. gentelman explained he did not know, but assured me it had been sent. i also suggested as i did not receive paper bills, maybe it would have been a good idea to inform re: renewall of contract via email,as i receive my billing information monthly. gentleman agreed it sounded a good idea, but couldnt comment.
so it would appear bt have renewed my contract for a further 12 months, and it will cost me, wait for it ? a whopping £122.85p to terminate the contract
Please excuse me, while i pull my pants back up0 -
