I have downloaded a film in AVI format but i cant get it to play on laptop running Vista. It does work fine on my PC which is windows 7.
I have tried it in Divx player but get an error,
unsuported format. This video is an unsuported format and cannon be played without installing aditional direct show filters.
I also have downloaded the K lite codec pack but it wont play in windows media player either.

Hi
Probably your Windows Media Player hasn't got the correct codec installed.
If you don't know how to install codecs in Windows Media Player then it might be easier to download a different media player to use instead.
A suitable one is VLC from here:-http://www.videolan.org/Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
I had this and couldn't run it in VLC either. Decided best to delete and not try installing suggested "codec" - you can't be too careful.Friendly greeting!0

The K-Lite Codec pack - certainly the Mega version - includes GSpot, a programme that identifies which codec a file uses. I don't think it's installed by default, so if you haven't got it then its home page seems to be http://gspot.headbands.com/v26x/index.htm. It's only about 400K.0

Tried VLC player but get the following error,
No suitable decoder module:
VLC does not support the audio or video format "undf". Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.

i am generally of the opinion that if VLC or K-Lite codec pack doesnt allow you to play it get rid as its probably dodgy
even more so if its suggesting you download something to be able to play it!Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0
