new carpet quote - advice please

Hi,
Have been quoted £250 for a new carpet - room is approx 4m wide by 6.5m long. Fitter is going to use the existing gripper rod but will need to put in an extra piece here and there where the previous fitter has messed things up.
And then it will cost another £70 on top for new underlay.
think it is something like £12.99 per sq m and the carpet is classed as a heavy domestic one as we wanted something which was going to be hard wearing given we have two toddlers already and baby three on the way.
Does this sound like a fair estimate/cost for the job?
Would appreciate anyone who could give some advice. Thanks

Well for the size of the room, the cost of carpet alone priced at that will be £338 so if you work with new underlay at £3/sq M for the room it will be £78 so total cost would be £416 based on the above..... therefore quote of £320 all in is a good one0

we pay 50 quid per room for carpet fitting. do not get charged extra if underlay is getting fitted.
Underlay can be purchased over the net if in quantity you can save alot. There are many different types and quality/prices.0
