Help with reclaiming money for scam concert tickets.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of this? A few months ago I purchased some tickets to see Muse at Wembley. The concert was sold out and being desperate to see them and in hind sight, very foolishly, I went to a secondary ticket agency and purchased tickets through them. Before doing so, I googled them and could find no negative reviews. In the past couple of weeks the company (total tickets) has apparently gone in to liquidation. I had used my credit card as opposed to my debit card to buy the tickets as I was under the impression that should I not receive them, then I would be able to claim the money back.

I have just phoned the credit card company and the person I spoke to said that they dont reimburse for things like this. I found it very hard to understand what the call operator was saying, but the general gist of it, from what I can gather is that Im not entitled to any money back.

Has anyone had any experience of this? The credit card company is capital one.

Well if you paid £100 or more on the tickets then you will be covered by section 75 of the consumer credit act but if you paid less than £100 im not sure where you stand.

    Hope this helps in someway:)

Section 75 of the CCA will cover you for the loss as per the t&c's the CC company are jointly and severlaly liable. Maybe better to ask to speak to the disputes department directly.

Thanks for your replies, I paid £230 in total. When I spoke to the lady at the claims department at Capital one she said that I wouldn't be entitled to any money back due to a clause they had in place. I wasn't sure if this was a well known problem with capital one or if she's just trying to fob me off. I think Ill try writing to them instead, maybe Ill get a bit further.

Thanks, I've just been in touch with the consumer direct service and they've given me some good advice.

    Thanks for all your help.
