Basically...sold expensive item. Buyer wants to pay by C/C or bank transfer as state their paypal limited just now due to high/selling buyiing.
I accpet this can be plausable as it happened to me, until i sent invoices etc and paypal then restored my account.
Am I covered if i accepted payment this way then sent goods special delivery, signed for insured etc...... if anything went wrong ?
Or could the buyer pay me, then reverse funds or something similar and i'd be left with no payment AND no item as it had been sent !

As far as I am aware, if someone pays by bank transfer then that is final - they can't recharge this or claim it back (hence why scammers often insist on taking payment by this method). It's the buyer that would lose their rights in this case so you would be safe.0

I would bite their hand off for a bank transfer...LOL
No paypal fee's for a start. Buyer would lose the ability to raise a paypal dispute if there is a problem, but if they are happy with that and you are a fair seller who will address any problems regardless of payment method, then bank transfer is the way to go!!0 -
Except the bank transfer the only risk is to the buyer not you0

What happens if the bank transfer is not authorised by the real owner of the account?:beer:0

What happens if the bank transfer is not authorised by the real owner of the account?
I am unsure what you mean?...but if the bank acoount owner has given someone else there online banking details then they will be liable.....if the bank account owner has given someone else their telephone banking dertails then they will be liable. If a fraudster pretends to be the account holder in the bank itself and makes the transfer then the bank will be liable for not i.ding them properly? Seller is safe.0 -
Some banks, don't 'clear' transaction until the next day. So if I make a payment from my Nationwide account to my First Direct account, it appears instantly, but doesn't clear until next morning. Check with your bank if you are unsure.0
