Santander are s@*T

HI all,

I opened an account with Santander on 23rd JUne. To date I still havent received card, pin, welcome pack.....in fact anything. I've had several calls to no avail, but have pushed for compensation....to date I have received £110 from them. To make matters more interesting I also have a business account with them. ON Friday they decided to change all my security settings for online banking. More complaining and they've just given me another £50.....but....I wont be able to access online banking for upto 14 days. OK so I've had money out of them, although the current account is still unaccessable via hole in the wall....but...frankly...surely the banks should be learning.....throwing money away this easily will end in even more going under. Stear clear of Santander is my advice

  • I reckon I can get even more out of them....If anyone has problems stand your ground, push for what you want and remind them that YOU are the customer. I don't think any of the other banks are much better and as interest rates are pretty poor maybe the only way to get something is to go for compensation when they get it wrong. In the case of Santander the maximum you will get from customer services via phone is £50......ask for that to be credited to your account immediatly and then ask for the complaint to be escalated. They will send you a letter and details of what to do next. Easiest option I've had so far is to go to your branch and get the manager to offer more money.
