Hi all,
I want to get a camera but not sure what one. And wanted some advice from people who know more about camera than me.
I have always been intrested in taking picture and over the years have had many different cameras. I now want get a camera that will last and that I can progress with it so as i get better can change lens so on.
This camera going to be used for all different jobs when I go on holiday or when I go out just to take random picture of things I like.
I also dont want spend more than £300 even tho I really like the sony NEX-5K this is way out my price range
I have been looking at the sony alpha a230 anyone used this or any other recomendation?
Thanks in advance

If you could push your budget up a bit more, then you could get this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-D3000-Digital-Camera-18-55/dp/B002J9GIAQ/
or
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-1000D-EF-S-18-55mm-3-5-5-6/dp/B001TOD3YG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1279713914&sr=1-1
However, you can buy the Sony A450 from Comet for 299.99 now:

Personally, i bought a Panasonic L10 2 years ago for 300 quid. I wish i'd spent a bit more and bought a canon (so i could now get a decent 50mm lens.. its too expensive on the Panasonic)0 -

If you think that you will EVER want to get a bit more serious about photography - buy a Nikon or a Canon. If you buy any other make you will have to either replace it or pay a fortune for their own "label" lenses etc - or eventually end up doing BOTH.
I have just bought a 500mm lens for my Nikon; the Nikkor lens was £4000+. I paid less than one fifth of that for a pretty good Sigma with a Nikon fitting.0 -
