Advice on what hifi or music player to buy?

Hi All
I am after a music player (hifi) for home use only, some friends has recommended one which has a docking station etc and to buy a ipod. I am reluctant as I will not take it out of home, which sort of defeats the purpose and I will then be reliant on only running the player with an ipod.
Anyway in an ideal world I want something that has the following:
- Compact mini hifi with built on speakers (at least 8 watts if not more as large rooms), dont want detachable speakers as difficult to move around house.
- With radio which includes DAB.
- Also takes a CD.
- Mainly has a standard USB connection, this either either with internal storage or I can plug a generic USB key into this.
My budget is upto £100 - can anyone let me know if systems for the above spec exist? and where I should be looking and whether these systems go by a specific name. I have looked on Argos + Amazon and not having much luck.
Thanks

No idea what it sounds like but seems to have everything you want (apart from the attached speakers)0 -
The last thing you will get for £100 is High Fidelity which is a very misused term.
I think the idea of radio with an iPod dock is a good one, I've a Pure Avanti Flow which makes a reasonable sound and is internet enabled as well, all be it a lot more than your budget. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
lucky - thanks look ok, just a bit of a downer with the seperate speakers etc.
penrhyn - sorry you have lost me here, what is High Fidelity? Also are you saying I should get a cheaper deal by purchasing a dock and seperate ipod?0 -
I think that for the price that JVC is the best you will get.
It actually looks quite good reading the reviews on Argos.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

High Fidelity = Hi-Fi
You can probably get as cheap a deal as you like but the sound quality will suffer.0 -
High Fidelity = Hi-Fi - very misused term = your right as I have as I guess do not necessary need one. I just a normal all-in-one music player with the above spec, any ideas what they are called? had a look around and think shops may call them compact players?0

They are usually called micro systems when they have separate speakers, the one box designs used to be called Ghetto Blasters. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
