It fell about 2'6" but onto brick paviors and I am getting an error message that the lens is stuck and to restart the camera but to no avail.
My home insurance covers it but has a £200 excess and they decide if it should get repaired or replaced. I called the Canon authorised repair place and they want £80 + Vat to repair and if there are any big parts needed that would be more.
It is a Canon SX10 14 months old which costs nearly £300 to replace. Anyone any thoughts on what I should do?

Whatever you do it's going to cost you a fair few bob. Perhaps ask an independent camera shop for an opinion, which may enable you to decide whether to get them to repair it, or go the official Canon or insurance route.0

Do a lot of research on the net.
My Daughter had a Fuji with a stuck lens and found an easy fix for it.
Good luck.0 -
Sent off to Colchester Repairs - Canons authorised agents.
And their estimate is just over £200:eek::eek::eek::eek:
So to get it back will be £8 but I can then give it a really good bang (one repair method:D) knowing there is little to lose or may I get more as a repair or spares on ebay?0
