Well i just phoned them both and it was very swift and quite rude i must say.

Littlewoods is asking for £25.00 a week.
Next is asking for £20.00 a week.

Which would leave me with £19.00 a week to live on until i find work, i told them i will get back to them as i don't know what to do as i cannot live on £19.00 a week.

I feel so stupid and frustrated, im lost.

ok, i'm no expert on this, but you need to work out how much you can afford to pay them, and put this in writing to them. they will always try and push for more on the phone so stop dealing with them over the phone. can you get a postal order for the amount you can afford and send it to them?

And offered them £1.00 and also put into the letter saying once i get back to work i will start paying the accounts straight away to get this matter cleared up.

Finally got a reply, here is what they said:
    Proposed Pay Arrangement

    Balance:£****

    Dear Mr.******,

Thank you for your recent letter regarding a possible payment arrangement.

Unfortunately we are unable to accept your offer as it does not meet our minimum payment criteria. Please contact us on 0844 822 4090 within the next 7 days to discuss the option available to you. If we do not hear from you, we will assume you no longer require our assistance in this matter and we will expect normal payments to resume.

Please note that failure to bring your account up to date will lead to administration charges being added to your account and could affect your ability to obtain future credit. Your account may ultimately be passed to external collection agencies.

    Yours sincerely,

    ****** *******

If I was you I would once again send them the letter with your offer of 'token' payment - always send these recorded too and keep copies. Even if it goes further keep re-iterating what your fist letter said, they will always try for more. If they decide to take it further again then the court will see you made an offer, you explained why, and you enclosed your SOA, they will be more cross at said company for wasting their time!

If your finding it hard dealing with them yourself contact your local CAB, they will deal with the creditors and issue them letters etc, then whent hey call all you ahve to do is direct them to the CAB.

Try not to worry about them, easier said than done I know! Hope you manage to find work again soon...
  • Thanks for the reply Manoona (sorry for the late reply)

I will do as you said and resend the offers to them and keep all records of them being sent.

    ;)
