Cheap Heathrow Parking

Hello All
Hoping someone can help! I'm going on hols in August & need to leave my car at Heathrow for 5 days. I've checked the official Heathrow parking & been quoted £43 for the time. When I did a google search loads of parking things for Heathrow came up that were cheaper but I don't know which one's are good & which one's are rubbish. I don't want to end up leaving my car in a field 20 miles from Heathrow but I don't want to pay £43 either!!
Can anyone recommend a car park they've used before?
Thanks in advance! :)

Purple Parking is often the cheapest but it is a long way from the airport and you would need to allow at least 30 minutes for the transfer, and more if you are flying from Terminal 5. Q Parking is on the Bath Road and seems very close, again much further from T5, personally I am always late and never arrive more than an hour before departure, for that reason I book on site parking, but admittedly you won't get that for much less than the quote you have

Thanks! I saw Purple Parking but thought they were quite far out. I'm flying from terminal 5 as well, so they're all pretty far from there? The onsite parking for Terminals 1,2 & 3 is much cheaper than parking for Terminal 5, can I use the Terminal 1,2 & 3 parking even though I'm flying from terminal 5?
Another company that has come up is Quality Airport Parking, anyone used them? :)

We used Purple parking when we went to NZ earlier this year. £54 for over 4 weeks and they didn't charge extra when we were a day late returning due to the ash. Very easy and pleasant staff. Used code TIPO to get best price but not sure if it is still working.

Yes they are fine - and they serve terminal 5.

Two very minor snags - a slightly long wait for the return transfer, and their depot is a bit tricky to find/get into, largely because of a bus lane.

You can use T123 parking for T5 - yes, nothing to stop you. You'd have to make your own way between terminals though as they would only transfer you to 123. The Heathrow Express is free on that section, as are the local buses. So not difficult but adds time. Worst case an extra half hour.

    Thanks for the help guys!
I'm just going to book my parking - quick question, when they ask you what time you're arriving/leaving should you take into account if you might get delayed? For example I'm landing back in Heathrow at 9:05pm UK time, should I allow for a delay & book my car to come out say at midnight or something? Don't want to get a charge if we are delayed & I can't get my car out of there until 11:30pm or something. Or do they take delays into account & not charge you?!
v confused about how it all works!

You often find adding a few extra hours does not increase the cost ... so i normally keep adding to the return time untill the price increases.

Not sure if prices are per calendar day or per 24 hours elapsed If the former you'll be OK up until midnight, if the latter it will depend on your arrival time. Just experiment as merlinormartin says
