If you want a badge holder which is different and offers security then get either a double or single protector with a lock (see details below):

It's definitely worth buying one as many Blue Badges are stolen from cars nowadays (as they are worth a lot on the black market due to free parking and to avoid the Congestion Charge etc).

If your Blue Badge does get stolen you then have the hassle of repairing the car window and also applying for a new Blue Badge which may take a while to come. Many councils now send out a leaflet about these badge protectors when they issue Blue Badges!

We have one for our child's Blue Badge, a relative has one for her badge and a friend of ours who has recently had her badge stolen from her car has now bought one for her replacement badge!

Isnt that just a sorry state of affairs when people are stealing disabled blue badges - i also heard that someone had stolen the playstation from the childrens ward in the local hospital - really is the lowest of the low.

But thank you for the advice - i am going to look into sourcing some snazzy bb holders and now will also look into having them with some sort of security.

Snazzy and security, now that sounds great!
  • I totally agree! Snazzy holders required! I have just got a lilac one (also from E Bay) but it's still not very exciting!

Maybe we should all go into business!

What a great find ,thankyou, I have just ordered a double one..I have often thought how awful it would be if someone stole the badge . Hopefully a design for a trendy cover for the badge will soon happen!!

If you're looking for snazzy walking sticks then https://www.glamsticks.co.uk is fab. I now have two from there - one covered in multicoloured diamantes, and the other I call my girly girl one which is pink with glitter fairies and butterflies on! I get loads of compliments.

I too have the pink BB holder and it's not exciting. I'd love a glittery one!

Mupette - my clock is falling apart too. Particularly between the hours of 12 and 2!

Not sure if I am able to work any magic, but I am able to sew. So wonder if I could possibly be able to make snazzy covers for your badges. Currently its rather early in the morning and I have a market stall to get too today. But I will see if I can take a look at my friends badge cover and see if I can come up with something over the next few days.
Meanwhile good luck in your searches, just incase I am not able to help!.
As I am eventually going to have to join the ranks of people with badges (cervical spondylosis) this may become something quite dear to me too!
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
