Wed 21st July - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D
Ok, try again - just wrote half of my reply, went to get dd's breakfast and pc crashed...grrr:mad:
So, 2nd hospital appt today - with the gastro doc I've seen for years, musr remember to ask all the qs I forgot last week...or didnt have time for!!
Must do some uni work this morning. I handed one assignment in to my tutor yesterday - early!!hoooray, one down....!!
Have dd2's end of primary performance tonight, should be fab. Bit sad she's leaving but she can't wait!
Ok, better do my list, time is ticking on...:
Have a great day everyone:j

Stitching witch - I'm new to economy 7 - infact the lady on the phone when I tried to switch to another company told me I couldn't because I was on economy 11 (?)
Anyway my question is this - how do you know when to put the machines on to use the cheap electric - is there a set time or can you easily find out?
Thanks! I hope you enjoy your day out in the Cotswolds

Fay, If you're on Economy 11 then I'm jealous! I phoned my electricity supplier and asked which my cheap rate hours are. In fact, due to some historical fluke, I have cheap rate between 11.30pm and 7.30am making 8 hours.
My washing machine has a built in time delay so I set that before going to bed and then the dishwasher and various other things have plug-in timers.
I know it's worth it as the last estimate was waaaay out. I'd used more night units and far less day units than their estimate and my bill was reduced by nearly £80.

Thanks I'll investigate, the lady on the phone said I was economy 11 - but didn't explain it properly either - just meant I couldn't switch to the provider I wanted, but when I asked what the number meant she did say the hours you get the cheap rate, so I was confused - thanks for the tips, my machine also has a time delay - I'm trying to get into the habit of using them at night and putting phones etc on at that time too.
Much appreciated
