ScS Sales Tactics

Hi Folks.
To cut a long story short in March me and the wife went to ScS to look at what was on offer in the sales.
when we walked into the showroom we noticed this lovely corner suite a steal for £1700.00, so me and the wife made the decission to purchase the suite, then we were approached by a sales rep who went into overdrive when we said we were here to buy.
I asked if there were more corner suites to view and he then showed us a lazy boy corner suite, so he pointed out the suite and off we went to look and have a sit on.
The rep then started to describe the suite the frame the pocket sprung seat and back rests.
This is where our problems started, the rep stated on more than one occasion the suite frame was manufactured from aluminium.
It was not until the suite was delivered we found out that the suite frame was made from wood and not aluminium.
Please advice any one.
Thanks
Dave.

Was it in writing as to the construction of the suite ? Why is it a problem ?

As above. In theory, since the sales guy said it was aluminium it forms part of the contract and thus, since isn't you're entitled to return the goods for refund. However, in practice there's no proof of anything that's not in print.

    Why exactly does it matter?
