Belkin Router

My ISP was offering a broadband speed upgrade which I got, they sent me an email saying the upgrade was now working and I had to reboot my computer and turn my router off then on again which I did the router is showing a power light but no adsl light or wireleess connection light, laptop wireless connection wont connect nor will my pc which is connected to the router, would anyone have any ideas what could be wrong.

    have you checked your routers settings, more than likely need reconfiguring.

    I believe that these speed upgrades can be very unstable for a time but then settle down. If you have a BT line you can try connecting to user name bt_test@startup_domain which doesn't need a password - this will take you to a BT test page if it's successful. If this works you can try a similar thing specifically for your ISP. The Plusnet one for example is bt_test_user@plusdsl.net. These are useful things to try before contacting your ISP as they help to track down the problem. Good luck. It's a shock when you have no broadband isn't it?

    that may not be the correct address for that model of router.

    What would be good to know is the model number of the router you have and then a definate answer to be able to gain access to your routers settings can be given.

    I had similar problem and the folks on here helped me ,the router had lost its signal for some reason, I had to push the button on the back to reset it and retune it back in again perhaps yours has lost signal.
    there was no reason for ours to have lost signal.
    my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!
