Forum not updating

Options
I'm finding the forum very unpredictable at present.

I've marked some boards 'read' three or four times this evening, but every time I return to the site they are unread again so I can't operate 'go to first unread post'.

It's been operating fine for a few days before today.

Is it just me?

    This has always happened sometimes.

But what is most irritating about this site is that, if you read a single post in any board (this most often happens if you click on a link in a Google search, for example), then next time you visit the site ALL posts in all boards prior to that date are marked 'Read'.

I find that if I have inadvertently clicked on an MSE Forum link in Google, then I have to go through all the boards I usually visit, otherwise next time I visited I would never know what I had read and what I hadn't.

Other forums don't suffer from this problem, and only actually mark a board, or thread, 'Read' when you have actuually read it, not just when you've visited a totally unrelated part of the same forum.
