Hello
I need to get someone in to install a couple of extra sockets, an extra single in the kitchen (for a cooker hood) and an extra double in the front room. Also i was thinking about getting a light fitting in the porch.
Is there any idea about how much this would cost?
Is there anything i can do to lower it, e.g. buy the sockets etc, or are the electricians likely to get i cheaper anyway?
What are the industry standards for electricians - usually (i think) for gas people its "Corgi" but i dont have a clue about electricians and am finding it hard getting anyone to recommend me one from past experience!
Thanks

You would be best to use someone who is resitered with a scheme, as the work is in a kitchen- so will come under Part P of the building regs (England & Wales).
The NICEIC are the most widely known, but there are others.

It is not mandtory to use a registered electrician, but they are vetted, and they have a complaints procedure and have to conform to a code of practise.baldly going on...0
