Places To Watch Farnborough Airshow

Hi we wanted to take our kids to Farnborough Airshow but am worried our 2 year old would be abit scared, lots of people have suggested watching without paying to go in and just wondered if anyone had any suggestions of good, free, places to watch it. We are based in Guildford but willing to travel round the area. Many Thanks in advance for your help

  • Hiya there, we will be going to the car park near farnborough leisure centre. Its in the center of the roundabout and has fantastic views, we went whilst i was heavily pregnant last time and didnt fancy walking around all day.
We have also been told that there is a hill that overlooks the runway with fantastic views
Ive been told its near church crookham opposite a pub called "the Foresters"

Ive also been told the Monkey puzzle pub is good, we went there the other day to watch the practices and it was a good view but it could get busy? It does has a small play center with slides etc which my boys had fun on.

Also Ive been told there is a park behind southwood golf club (next to monkey puzzle) which has great views, apparently its got parking and its cove's football field?

We have really debated about going this year, we normally do except the year i was very heavily pregnant but dont really want my 20 month old to be in the pram all day,but hes not a fantastic walker etc etc!!!

I Hope this helps, we have been looking for somewhere nice to go and take a picnic and so i updated my Fbook status asking for suggestions and thats where most people suggest

Take care and have fun, my boys cant wait!!!

From what I can see by looking at google maps and some old maps I have found in cupboard I think Caesars Hill is in a woodland area between Bourley Rd, Beacon Hill Rd and Sandy Hill Rd all in Aldershot type area. From what I have read best access is from Upper Hale Rd but someone I know had mentioned that they have known a local farmer open up his field for parking and then you can gain access from there although as you can probably guess they were incredibly vague!

My OH is now pondering about buying tickets to get in instead after all this effort :)
