Here are mine for comparison, agreed this month. We live in the East Midlands.
Selling at £224.000. Purchase at 200.000.
Total fee (inc vat) £840.00
Land Registry fee £200.00
Official searches £ 10.00
Total £1.050.00
This is for a property with an existing HIP pack. Expect to pay extra if no HIP.
Don't forget your stamp duty which is additional.
Finally don't be afraid to get quote and 'haggle' I got a reduction, you can.
Good luck0 -
The legal fees on the purchase are actually £450+99+99 = £648 + vat which is a bit high for a £200K purchase.
£99 + VAT (£116.32) for completing the SDLT form is well over the top.
£549 + VAT for a purchase @ £200K and mortgage is not unreasonable actually, but it sticks in my gullet that they separate out the mortgage fee and the SDLT fee!RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0
