Can we insist on a replacement??

Could anyone advise whether or not we are entitled to insist on a replacement rather than a repair to our brand new sofa which was only delivered two weeks ago, and which has a broken frame already.
We were told by the shop that the frame and springs are guaranteed for five years, but that Trading Standards say that if it is repairable the shop have to repair it rather than replace it.
We are not happy to accept a repair and have asked for a replacement but the shop seem very reluctant to do this and insist that their upholsterers will make such a good job that it will be better than new!!!
We are going to insist they replace the sofa, but would be grateful for any advice as to our consumer rights about this one, as they seem adamant that they have to repair rather than replace.

You reject the item and ask for a replacement or your money back
A repair is at your dscretion, and you are not obligated to accept a repair0 -
demand a refund or a replacement, only.
do not accept a repair at any cost. once you do that the other options are virtually void.Get some gorm.0 -

I wouldn't even consider a replacement! Get your money back and buy something which is better quality. with all the sales at the moment you should be able to get something of better quality for the same price.0

hi tell them your rejecting the sofa under the sale of goods act and that you want a full refund, the sofa is not fit for purpose, and by law you are entitled to a refund keep repeating this to them, also contact Fira independant furniture ombudsman 01438 777 700 and tell the sofa company you are dealing with them, do not get it repaired once you go down that route there is no way back, you can read more on previous posts by myself regarding this situation and how i got my money back from dfs it might help0
