Getting a new Tesco clubcard

Whilst browsing at Tescos today, noticed that next to the Christmas section (selection boxes/advent calenders etc - is it really that time of year already !) were the forms for a clubcard.
Now a while back, if the paper card was used the till generated a voucher for 150 points which then some people added to their main tesco clubcard or sold on ebay. My question is - has anyone done this lately ?
I think I will try it soon as Dad wants his own clubcard

Well I had to go to Tescos today to return an item. I spent £1.50 on a lovely pair of sunglasses which were reduced from £5.00, handed over my new paper clubcard and was given 1 point for a carrier bag and one point for my spend. No till spill for 150 points but it was worth a try.
Whilst there had a demo from a chap on the newly installed self scan machines, was surprised to hear that they accept 10% of the shopping value in vouchers !!!! for those that are regulars you will know that this store previously were horrible to me when I attempted to use vouchers. The end result was I wrote to the Chairman of Tescos and received an apology albeit staff still insisted on only accepting vouchers on purchased products.
Then today there is a machine now that accepts 10% off - therefore it is cost effective for me to use the self-scanner rather than the normal manned checkout.

PS Not entirely a wasted journey because I found out the information above and I won £2.00 on a scratchcardI am the only Voucher Queen in my village LOL

I don't think the tills generate the coupons you asked about anymore - but maybe someone else knows differently?
Just checked with my mum: she registered with Clubcard at the beginning of June, and the 150 bonus points were added by Tesco automatically (thus not by means of a coupon) to her account soon after she started using the card.

Hiya MBN, after today's experience I do not think the 150 point till spill is generated anymore but it was worth a go !!!

We were told, in our tesco, that we had to scan the voucher there and then as it came out of the printer, so that it was definately going onto a new card. So tesco knew there was a problem so have likely sorted this.0

Hi,
I picked up one of these paper cards for my oh a couple of months ago and he was sent a £1.50 voucher in the last clubcard mailing "to start him off"!
Hope that helps

HI COOLTRIKERCHICK
Hope you can help!! I tried to use some coupons (the 2.70 from Haper Bazar) in sainsburys without success. Do you or anyone knows what is the policy in Sainsburys for coupons? I haven't had a problem before but the young lad called a supervisor and I was not alowed.0 -

To my knowledge, Sainsbury's accept coupons only if you buy the products the coupons are for. I haven't used Sainsbury's for quite a long time precisely for this reason. I'm very glad Tesco accept Sainsbury's total spend coupons - I use these in Tesco with no problem.:)

Hiya luz apologies for delay in responding had 2 mystery shopping assignments today. As MBN said I do not use the vouchers at Sainsburys either. My choice would be Asda or Tescos and I know Tescos accept them because I used 10 over several shops. You'd better hurry though as I believe they expire tomorrow.
