What type of floor tiles are these?

Anyone happen to be a tiler on here? (Sure there will be!)
We've just been checking the floor under the carpet in our hallway only to find there are tiles down - what type of tiles are they?
See piccie here:

I'm wanting to find out what type of tile they are with a view to maybe cleaning them up and/or maybe painting over the top of them - I've googled very quickly for floor tile painting advice and it looks like I need to know what sort of tiles they are beforehand. Hence posting on here to ask what type of tiles they are - ceramic or a.n.other?

that looks like a vinyl tile to me? You can see where they just stick down. That's not grout or mortar.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I agree. They are not a ceramic tile. They are a stick down vinyl tile.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Now I feel like a right numptie!
Lol. Although I'm pleased I asked, even if I do look like a complete non-DIYer to you all :rotfl:
Thanks for letting me know. They feel really solid when you knock on them with your knuckles - really do sound like tiles. I blame the sound for conning me into thinking they were real tiles
