Bought sofa 4 days later 10% off

Grr, on Sunday i purchased 2 sofas from Reid Furniture in Braehead over the phone as i had gone home to take measurements.
I was talked into (read pressurised) taking out extra cover which i didn't want but they kept on and on and reduced the price of the cover by £150 so i finally gave in and took it out.
The saleslady worked it out and said oh thats good you're getting 10% off overall???? How she worked that out i dont know.
Anyway saw a great big advert saying 10% of everything in store one day only.
Recieved my reciept through the post and terms and conditions state that i cannot cancel once order has been placed.
I thought i would have had a cooling off period of 7 days or something.
I'm really angry about this as i paid in full and was not offered any kind of discount only on the extra cover which i did/do not want and which cost me an extra £150 anyway.
Sorry rant over, i'm just so angry about it. I thought if i could have called them and said i was going to cancel my order and wait til thursday to buy they would have given me some discount, but it seems not.

you have the right to return the product under the sales of goods act.
therefore say to them that unless they give you the discount, youll return it straight away.0 -
I thought that the 7 days was under the distance selling regs and doesnt apply if you have seen the goods pre-purchase - under the Sale of Goods Act,IIRC I believe that you dont have any right to return unless the goods are faulty or mis-represented - a shop selling a lower price at a later is date isnt covered.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

I agree with this - dont think that the distance selling regulations apply in this case - the product has already been seen so the OP wasnt buying it 'blindly'
The following link goes to the Consumer Direct page on the distance selling regulations:

Hi,
I suppose u could take the friendly approach, especially since you are pleased with the items. I mean, write a short letter to them and wait to see if they offer anything?
I once did this with an Argos TV, which was reduced in price a few days after I bought it. They sent me the difference in vouchers. Ok, its easy for Argos to send some vouchers, its a different kind of company, but you get what I mean. In theory I could've returned the TV and bought it again... (this was internet purchase).
I agree though, seeing big offers a few days after buying something is a slap in the face for the consumer. I remember being frustrated over it.0
