Have you had any previous credit accounts?
Do you have any current debts?

Probably first option is to try your own bank. If you can pay it back monthly then the APR won't matter to you.

I have no credit cards or debts. What i mean by pay monthly us say i spend the £1000 pn the first day i pay back like £30 a month. Or does it not work like that?

    Thanks

You can certainly just pay back the minimum repayment each month - but that does mean that you will pay interest each month - so the APR will be relevant to you (I thought you meant pay on in full each month which some people do).

Still your bank is probably the best place to try for a prime card.

If they won't give you one (due to your lack of credit history) then you would probably need to consider a sub-prime card for a few months to start building your credit rating up. But these have a high interest rate so are not really suitable for buying a large item and paying it back over a long period as it will end up very costly.
These cards are better used to just buy a couple of items each month and pay back in full the following month - this will mean no interest is charged and you will be improving your credit rating. Then after 6months or so you might then be able to get a card with a better interest rate.

Have a read of these -

I'd advise against applying for anything other than their Classic card as you're unlikely to get that with no prior credit history, let alone any of the others :o

    Good luck :o

You don't usually get to choose your own limit. You normally have to take what you're given. If you haven't had a CC before you may struggle to find someone to give you a £1000 limit.

Have you considered a personal loan? I think that would probably be better for this scenario.
