Connect Laptop to LCD TV

Hello all,

Im trying to connect my HP laptop to my Acer LCD TV, I have tried to connect a wire from the VGA port of the TV directly to the vga port on the laptop but nothing comes up on the tv any suggestions??

  • There should be a switch or function key to switch between the built-in screen and an external display. For example on Dells, press the blue Fn key and F8 key at the same time.

    on the key board look for a function key (fn, funct etc) and look along the f1,f2 keys and look for one with a monitor icon and press them at the same time
  • Cheers , managed to get it working now. Only thing is the music on the presentation im working on is all distorted when i put it in to powerpoint.
