Seller asking for Positive feedback before dispatching

I have bidded for an item on ebay which is expensive, and won the bidding, the seller is asking to give a positive feedback inorder for him to receive the payment from payapl and only then he will be able to dispatch the item.
I dont feel it safe to give a positive feedback without receiving the item.
has anybody had this situation?
Please advise.

Just tell them that you will only leave feedback when you receive the Item.
If they do not post it you can open an item not received dispute and win when the appropriate amount of time passes.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Tell him you won't leave any feedback until you receive the item. If he refuses to send item without it then demand a refund and report him as a non-performing seller.:www: :: MFi3 ::

Thats cos Paypal are holding onto their money until either you leave possitive feedback or 21 days has passed.0

Just point him in direction of this

Tell him you'll be happy to leave positive FB after you have received and checked the item so his funds can be released as per ebay/paypal policy.0 -
On a side note, are Cyberprincess and Cyberbob an item? :rotfl:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

This was the reason the seller was telling.0 -
Thanks all for your replies, I'm thinking not leaving a positive feedback without receiving the actual product.0

Yes as others said no feedback until goods arrived and inspected
I never find sellers give feedback straight away when you win/pay until you then give feedback yet you honoured your side of the deal before they have, this person wants to take it even further0 -
asking for positive feedback prior to sending is in fact against ebay rules you can report them for that if you wish0
