My laptop is about to die on me and im trying to copy the photos onto disc.
Ive never done it before and presumed i could just copy the folders onto them - but whenever i try i get an error saying:
D is not accesble - incorrect function. Does this mean i bought the wrong discs?!

What operating system are you using (Xp, Vista, Windows 7) ?
What sort of drive is in your laptop (make/model) ?
What type of discs have you got ?0 -
Running XP and bought DVD-R no idea re drive. Ive copied music etc before but never photos0

can you read a disk from the drive, that will at least tell you if the drive is working properly, as a desperate measure you could always store the images onto a USB flash drive or an external hard drive.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

assuming your using nero, you need to set your burning software for "data", its possible you have it set as audio recording or even ISO Boot Disk.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

You have to use some software to burn DVD's, Windows XP does not natively support DVD burning. But if your laptop came with a DVD burner installed, then it should have some bespoke software.
Look for Nero or Roxio for starters, as these are the most common bundled products. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Can you write to CDR using this drive?0

Another thing to check is whether your DVD drive supports DVD- and not DVD+.Dave. :wave:0
