How much rental do you currently pay?
Did you explain this to the salesperson and ask them to elaborate?
I used to just slam the door in these type of salespeoples faces, but nowadays I've adopted a new strategy and they can't wait to get away from me, but my idea is that whilst I'm delaying them getting them to explain the spurious and misleading suggestions they are inclined to make, they can't be duping some other unsuspecting sole ... and arn't earning any commission

Get that all the time, says Hydro Electric on the meter therefore Hydro Electric are the cheapest.
He couldn't even tell me what the tarrif rates were but they could half my DD.
I eventually told him to **** off0 -
I had some chap telling my meter spins faster because im with EDF and costing me more , think it was a N Power rep0

For every meter in a property their is always going to be maintenance fees , what hes told you is the truth essentially, but you wouldn't be paying more due to being a bg customer if you have a shyd meter.Working within the gas and electric industry since 2008'0

I work for British Gas - you can see on the meter what you are paying per kWh.
Have a look at the comparison sites to get an idea of which company/tariff is best for you -not some guy at the door.
The prices on these sites are the ones you'll get charged - no supplier owns any meters (although sister companies in the same group might).
Edit - sorry, had prepayment head on. You can't see the prices on quarterly/direct debit meters.0 -
meters are the repsonsibilty of the supplier, some suppliers own them but many are still leased from National Grid or others, does it say swalec on the meter? I would hazzard a guess it does not - basically the sales guy is lying to get a sale, call swalec report him for his sharp practice and forget him after thatI am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0
