activity suggestions for multi-leg trip please

Hey there,

Rather than going on a weeks sunny hols, my friend and i have decided to do a 'mini backpacking' break round uk (we're from Scotland). So having decided where and when i have now booked our travel and accommodation as follows-

31st July- 2nd Aug - London
2nd Aug - 4th Aug - Liverpool
4th Aug - 6th Aug - Manchester
6th Aug - 8th Aug - Dublin

So far we have booked a show and meal deal for london (lastmin.com) and a gorgeous sounding massage in Manchester (Groupon my city deals). The rest of the time we are prob gonna do the shops, drinks and people watch!

So, what would be cool would be to have other visitors/locals suggestions of other visits/bars/attractions we shouldn't miss. All to be done in the most money saving way possible of course ;-)

We are super excited about this trip (my kids are away with thier dad for a week, so it's FREEEEEDOOOOOOOOM)

Liverpool is great for food/drink/people....there's Liverpool One, the main shopping area and also the Albert Dock - nice bars and restaurants there. Head over to Matthew Street for the night - thats where the pubs and clubs are. The Beatles Story at the Albert Dock is great (assuming you're not too young to know who the Beatles are!). And of course you can do the Ferry 'Cross the Mersey - it crosses over in a triangular journey - you can get off at one of 2 stops over the water or just stay on the boat for the round trip

That is just the kinda thing i was looking for, just an idea of which area's etc are worth being around in!

We will defo do The Beatles Story, would be a sin to visit Liverpool and not take that in, quite fancy the wee ferry too!

Any other advice for the other places peeps?
