Actually, right now I'm only around 15% over. Next week, we are going on a driving holiday through France and Spain, this wasn't planned at the time we took the insurance out, but this is a significant factor in why we are doing more mileage than predicted. (oh and yes, I have paid the £38 to upgrade my green card to fully comp).
I don't know how much I've over-estimated on the second car, it's not beyond the realms of possibility that it could be approaching 50%, but that's just a guess at the moment. I'll only know for certain at the end of the policy year, are you telling me that insurers will be happy to refund these unused miles at the end of that year.
If I only do 11,000 miles, rather than the 12,000 I've now predicted on the first car, will I be entitled to a refund?0 -

remember the admin fee will apply when making the change if its being done midterm, so unless it was less by a reasonable amount it might not be cost effective. To be honest I have never had anyone come back after the policy has finished and asked for a refund based against the actual mileage done on the otherhand I've never had a customer call up after its finished wanting to speak to customer service to pay more either.
No doubt at renewal stage some companies would want more money for the previous years cover if the mileage was based against an incorrect figure (kinda like when people 'forget' convictions) so dont see why a refund couldnt work??
would be interesting to see what you are told0
