Help with an appeal letter please.

Hi,

I have just been dismissed for issues relating to my recordkeeping. I am/was a Health Visitor. I have been off work since February 2010 with reactive stress. Please dont put any nasty comments down as the last time I posted on this Forum, I was told that I was not to be trusted which discouraged me from posting again.

I intend to go to appeal and tribunal but I would like help on one point where my rep. assures me that this is acceptable.

Basically of the four allegations against me, one was not upheld, two were misconduct and the fourth was gross misconduct.

At the time - 15th July -the adjudicating manager did not say she was referrring me to the NMC ( governing body) but when I received the letter ( 17th) it did say that a referral will be made for the NMC to consider.

If I lose my registration/ or have codicils on it that will make finding another job virtually impossible.

I queried this with my Rep who is a Regional Representative of Unite
who says that management can add this at a later stage even tho` it wasn`t discussed with me................

Could anyone please advise me if he is right before I write a request for an appeal?

I'd have thought any charge of gross misconduct should be referred to the professional body as a matter of course. Surely it isn't discretionary?

How easy do you think it will be to find work with 2 counts of misconduct and 1 of gross misconduct on your record?
