Hi hopefully someone can help.

Last week somehow someone or thing has hacked into my email account and has started sending random stuff to people on my list, and i always get everytime they send one an email from mailer demon telling me it couldnt be sent but i know it has as my friends ask what the email were about.

I use yahoo mail, also when it first happened i ran a full check of my pc and it found nothing.

May be its not a virus in your emails but in someone you know and their account is sending out mails you sent to them, if you see what I mean.

Have you run malwarebytes? What anti virus do you have?

What makes you think that your account was hacked? It's more likely that somebody just uses your email address as From: when sending these emails. Nothing you can do about, just delete these bounces.

To be on the safe side you should change your password though...

Yes, this happens occasionally. It looks to the system as though the emails have come from you, but they haven't.

It normally stops after a week or two, then they move on to a different 'From' address.

If someone had hacked into your account, you would find their emails in your 'Sent' folder.

I seem to remember by putting a completely mad false addy at the top of your contacts list this cant happen.

    Run the free malwarebytes.

Sounds like someone Joe jobbed you ;-) and you're getting the <> mailer demon bounces.

    Extremely common: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_job

As stated above, you should change your password (as well as any other sites that use the same one if you don't use unique passwords for different sites!)

AVG is very unreliable at the moment.

Therefore I would be tempted to run malwarebytes anyway: (instructions by alienRIK):

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ma..._anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM FULL SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds

    reboot

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD THIS VERSION')
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/2894/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)

After this I would advise changing the antivirus on your computer provided your computer is infection free. Advise would be given later.
