Bargain holiday!

Hi guys,

I've been to the campsite Castell Montgri in Estartit on the Costa Brava many times on family holidays. My boyfriend and I usually book last minute - I'm a student, and he's self employed, and as my course doesn't start until late September we looked in to going from the 4th - 11th.

We booked last night - £140 for a week's self catering accommodation on the site. Of course, travel bumps up the cost, but we've got flights for £200 inc. taxes and returns for the 2 of us.

So in total, we've paid £340. Transfers from the airport can be pricey - but the bus from the airport to the site is 7 euros return.

Bargain!

Where did you get Girona airport to l'Estartit for €7? Taxi is over €70.

But you booked last night? I'm confused, it this what you paid last year for transfer or what you paid for this years.

I booked the accommodation and flights last night.

We've always got the bus from the airport - tickets cost between 5 and 7 euros from Girona airport to Castell Montgri, and returns last for 30 days. Just buy them on the bus/at the kiosk at Girona.

You can book them in advance online, but as a newbie (hate that word!) I can't post web links on here. Saves worry I suppose, but there's always seats available.

If you're interested in the holiday I'll happily give you all the information you need.

    Hope this all makes sense.

It was the transfer to l'Estartit I was interested in as I am staying in an apartment there (not at campsite) at the end of August for 2 weeks.

I think by the sounds of it the OP used the normal bus service to get to her campsite for 5 to 7 euros return. A airport transfer would be a lot more as it would be a service just for that reason. I found this when i went to spain at easter.

Thank you Barbie Babe. That's exactly what I meant! Thought I was speaking Spanish then!

I thought you had found a direct coach service from the Girona airport to l'Estartit ("but the bus from the airport to the site is 7 euros return").
