Deleting of Posts

Options
Hi,

I went to my profile this morning and looked at all the threads I had started as I wanted to update on. I noticed that a thread of mine, 'Cheap Perfumes & Aftershaves' has been deleted - can someone confirm why?

People, Im assuming from the thanks, found this post helpful. Yet a few days later it has been removed.

Curious as to what I have done wrong.

Are you sure it's been deleted, and not simply moved to a more appropriate forum?

Why has my post/thread been removed without telling me?

Posts/threads are deleted so we're no longer "publishing" them. While you may have posted it once we are made aware of it - we are legally liable too as the publisher. When something is deleted, it's removed from public view but it's still viewable by the Forum Team and can be reinstated if it needs to be. It won't show up in a forum search.
We never contact people when their posts are deleted. The sheer numbers of posts removed every day means it's simply impossible to contact everyone.
The Forum Team won't respond to aggressive emails demanding to know why a post/thread's been removed but if you send them a polite email asking, they may review or explain the decision where possible (sometime legal reasons prevent this). If you're still unhappy email webmaster@moneysavingexpert.com

Pretty sure its been deleted as its not showing up in my stats under threads started by me or posts that have been thanked. Also my post count had gone down by 2 (the thread had two posts in it).

I had another thread moved but that still shows in my stats. Yet I cant find this thread anywhere.

There is a cached version on Google - it looks like you were suggesting people buy counterfeit products. This would explain why the thread was deleted?
    Gone ... or have I?

I wasn't suggesting people by counterfeit good at all!

Perhaps, if some people on here put as much effort in to doing some research as they do writing some of the replies or deleting posts they/you would know that they are not counterfeit.

When buying the products I asked the guy at the counter if they were just fakes, he explained they wasn't and actually pointed me in the direction of the trading standards on site.

After buying a few bottle I went home and before posting on here I did some more research to make sure I wasn't suggesting people buy illegal products.

Bottom Line: You cant copyright a smell/fragrance! Why? Because a fragrance is made from essential oils, something that you can't copyright.

Also the fragrances I bought and suggested are completely different products, they are made with 50% fragrance oil. Again, if people did research they would discover not one designer fragrance contains that much. Not even proper perfume has that concentration.

It's no different to the likes of next recreating a designer fragrance and putting their own label and name to it.
