Financial information

Do credit card companies have the right to request all your details - outgoings, etc. if you are having difficulties paying them. Are you legally obliged to supply this information?

You only legally have to give this type of information to a court.

But equally the cc companies don't have to come to an agreement with you. If you are asking to pay less than the minimum payment or asking for interest to be reduced/frozen then it it common (and seems reasonable) for them to ask for an income & expenditure account so that they can see you are offering all you can afford. If you don't provide such information they may well be more likely to take you to court for payment of this debt.
