which camera do i want

i am looking to upgrade from my basic nikon to something that is not too complicated to use but will take better pictures
have found 2 panasonic cameras on amazon with 5* user reviews


either the lumix g1 or the gmc -lx3 . or is there any others i should consider ?

Erm, neither of those are superzoom cameras so i fail to see the point of the link.

The LX3 is about to be replaced by the LX5k. The G1 will be good, but it's a mini-SLR so you'd find the lens you get with the LX3 would be better (but less zoom) than the G1

Also check out the Canon G10 or G11

Personally.. i'd buy the LX3 - i'd love to have that camera (I have a Panasonic L10 dSLR.. its the older big bro of the G1)

Any idea when the LX5 will be in shops? Am tempted by LX5 but will wait and see if the price of LX3 drops, might get a bargain??
