Banks not playing by the rules

Hi guys...
First post here so here it goes....
I owe Natwest a rather large (+/-£1000) amount of money which has been referred to a collections agency, more-so Triton Credit Services.
Whilst this debt has been referred I have received very little communication from the company.
I understand that under the CCA 1974 a creditor (or its agency) must send me a statement of my account at least once every 12 months and notification of default as it happens.
In the last 18 months I have received nothing from either Natwest or its affiliations.
I am unable to view my credit record for strange reasons but I am in the process of gaining access to it.
My questions are:-
* If a bank breaks the Consumer Credit Act 1974, does that make the agreement, and with it all outstanding monies, null and void?
* Where do I stand in terms of making a complaint? Bank? OFT? Ombudsman?
Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Shaun

You'd possibly be better posting this in the "Debt Free Wannabe" thread

There are a set of rules debt collectors need to adhere to.
Have you moved home or changed name at all recently? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

I haven't moved home in the last 3 years and I haven't changed name.
Would it be possible for a moderator to move this thread to prevent double-posting.
