hi i dont know if any1 else has had any probs with thier electric windows??? a few months back my rear window wouldnt stay up i took it to renault who gave me a huge quote i then took it to a local garage...
last week both back windows went again they go down then back to top and then drop about an inch i rang customer service who after along conversation told me theres a fault in some windows they are prepared to pay 75% of cost but with 2 windows gone its still gona cost £200 my cars only done 25,000!!! but out of warranty...
so another problem for me and renault (had to have dash replaced in last).. i did email watchdog but have had no reply...
just wondeered if any1 out there has had same issues and if so to contact watchdog as well the more complaints the better they might even bring price down like they did for dash...

Its a common fault (a google search would have proven this). If Renault are prepared to contribute that much then I would jump at it. Even if you fixed it yourself the regulators are £40 each and then theres the fitting cost on top!! Lastly it doesnt matter what the mileage is, as stated its out of warranty!

I have opinions, you have opinions. All of our opinions are valid whether they are based on fact or feeling. Respect other peoples opinions, stop forcing your opinions on other people and the world will be a happier place.0 -

It's called "anti-pinch", it's a safety feature.... Amogst other reasons, it stops the windows trapping limbs, when it feel unexpected resistance it winds the window back down.
However what seems to have happened is the system has reset itself, this can occur if:
You remove the battery or the supply voltage.
Someone (kids) keeps f*cking about with the windows.
Anti-pinch is the term I would use in order to show the garage that im not going to be taken for a fool.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

By buying a Renault in the first place, you would have proven that anyway.;)0 -
I don't know if it's the same known fault on the scenic as the hatch and estate but, Renault do know about this, they extended the waranty to 4 years on regulators, but you have to push the dealers over this.
You are lucky, mine wound up on the central locking, then after I'd walked away would wind all the way back down again
Any of the 4 windows can be affected I understand.
I'll resist Inactives baited hookI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Benn there, done that, sold the Renault and won't be back ever.0

That's what happened to mine (05 Megane) -if I'd not gone back cos I'd forgotten something I'd have left the car open to thieves!!
Renault fixed it without an issue as it was under warranty, but as it's a known manufacturing fault wouldn't the SOGA help if your garage is dragging their feet?
It's only a game

^^ Never leave anything in your car, perfect solution to forgetting to lock it
When your cars locked, they do more damage getting in than they possibly ever steal.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If only :rotfl:
Try this;
Friend used to park car near Leeds Uni, where they worked. Broken into so many times they gave up.
Didn't replace the radio, took the parcel shelf out to reveal the empty boot, no cash left in tray and glove box left open with card on it stating; "this car has been broke into so many times there is nothing left of value to steal".
:T:T:T
Some !!!!!! smashed the side window, turned over the card and wrote on it; "just checkin"
:A What do you do??I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Faced with a bill on that scale, I'd simply remove the door card and disconnect the window motor from the supply.0
