Hi,

Aldi have a computer on sale this Thursday, I will be grateful if someone can give advice if it's good value.

It's Ok, but it doesn't look to me to be tooo stunning a deal. You can buy a very similar Dell Inspiron for around the same money (Ok, £20 more, but with the slightly faster 630 processor, bit more memory, slightly smaller hard disk).

It would take a much sharper deal to tempt me to buy Medion rather than from one of the better established companies.

If you do a search this exact offer is already under discussion.
I think it's a great offer, I already have a Medion laptop and it does what it says on the pack and at a fair bit less money.:j
dell, you either love or hate.:o

Some say the same about Medion! I've had a Medion PDA Sat-Nav back in the day which we went across Europe with and a wireless keyboard and mouse which have been excellent.

Indeed the charger connection for the PDA snapped a couple of months before guarantee was up. I contacted Medion- found receipt and they sent Citylink to collect the PDA and receipt. They phoned me twice, once to tell me it was to be repaired, the other to apologise for time taken in getting parts (2 weeks or so) and then texted me when Citylink were returning it. I was highly impressed they went to that effort for something so low value!

The 3 year guarantee alone is worth a lot extra.

I have the previous edition - about 4 months ago - which is similar

The external HDD which is also on offer is excellent - it just slides into the top of the PC and the transfer rate is amazing. I just backed up all my files from my old PC - a 5 year old Aldi Medion and still working.

The concensus of opinion from earlier thread was that it is an excellent spec for the money.
