Travelex BDC

After reading the info on MSE about Travelex price promise and another BDC called Thomas Global, I decided to give Travelex a tester and see if they hold true to their word.
I got £1 = €1.42 off Travelex and after ordering I found Thomas Global at £1 = €1.46 both commission free.
So I contacted Travelex as soon as I ordered who said to email them, which at first was a bit odd but I thought what the heck and emailed them anyway.
I was severely vexed to find they never bothered to respond. Things were not looking good.
Even at the airport when I arranged pick up, the girl said I got the new rate and it was only when I walked away that I checked the receipt and she'd run it through at €1.42.
So far then Travelex are pretty poor. Ok here's the good part.
About a week passed and then an email dropped in to my inbox from Travelex re: my price promise request.
Well, talk about a shock! They apologised for not getting in touch and put it down to the usual drivel, and then said we would like to refund you the difference and send a cheque to you.
And quelle surprise the cheque turned up in the post today with a letter of apology!
Overall Travelex were a bit ropey because initially they didn't hold true, but the fact they did get back to me and showed they'd not forgotten about me speaks yards about their customer service.
I tend not to use BDC's in the UK or at destination airports but if I ever need a BDC in the UK again I will definitely use Travelex. :T

I've used Travelex for their price promise a few times and they have always sent a cheque with the difference in exchange rate without ANY hassle."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0
