Gum Tree scam advice please

I bought two v festival tickets from gumtree and got scammed twice yes twice the first time I paid the money through internet banking so I have their bank details. I have also informed the police the second time I pay a deposit of £100 through paypal and have just found out that this is a scam as well......does anyone know if I am covered by pay pal been in tears all day

hiya,so sorry to hear about you been ripped off how awful.I have a paypal account as i recentley sold items on ebay,You will have to check the small print about how safe you are etc,its sumt im guna look into asap x0

You might just get your money back but it will take a long time. I would suggest that you won't be going to V this year. I'm still astounded by the number of reports I read of people that are still getting ripped off by scammers/fake sites etc.
For any events next year 2011 you need to decide before Christmas and usually before Easter which one(s) you would like to attend and then research how that event sells their tickets. The official event web site will have instructions and also list the official ticket sellers.
If any mods read this (I haven't checked) perhaps it may be useful to compile a guide to safely purchasing tickets for these very popular events.0
